Regional Focus Groups
Fond du Lac and Calumet Counties
Representatives from Calumet County were offered the
opportunity of attending one of two focus groups: either with
Outagamie and Winnebago Counties at Liberty
Hall or with Fond du Lac County at the University of Wisconsin, Fond
du Lac. The groups consisted primarily of representatives from county
and local government, along with representatives of tourism and
community action programs.
The groups determined that the three main issues facing their community
/ East Central are: the lack of resource identification and
preservation, groundwater; conflicts between land-uses (such as
residential development and locally undesirable land uses), and
retaining and/or developing affordable housing.
A summary of the issues and opportunities identified by category, the
points allocated to each issue/opportunity, and the top issue and
opportunity identified by each group is presented below.
