Results by County
The focus groups were successful in bringing together a wide range of
interests.
Participants included:

County, city, village, and town officials
-
Staff from special districts (school districts and
sanitary districts)
-
Representatives from major utility companies ie.
Wisconsin Electric
-
Individuals representing tourism, health care, lake
associations, social services, planning, housing, land and water
conservation, transportation, parks, agriculture, recreation, zoning,
DNR, and law enforcement
-
Economic development interests (chamber of commerce,
economic development corporation and job center staff)
-
Developers, builders and realtors
-
The three tribes (the Menominee, the Oneida, and the
Stockbridge-Munsee)
-
Representatives of the Hispanic, Hmong and
Afro-Caribbean communities
-
High school students and representatives of
organizations who work with young people
-
Representatives of the elderly
-
A number of interested citizens
There was an overall participation rate of approximately
50%. Participation rates varied by county. Winnebago (65%), Waushara
(54%), and Waupaca (50%), had the highest participation rates while
Menominee (26%), Calumet (33%), and Fond du Lac (37%), had lower
participation rates.
