East Central Wisconsin Economic Development District
As the Designated Economic Development District (EDD) for
the East Central Wisconsin Region (Calumet, Green Lake, Fond du Lac,
Marquette, Menominee, Outagamie, Shawano, Waupaca, Waushara, and Winnebago
Counties), the East Central Wisconsin Regional Planning Commission
(ECWRPC) is charged with the preparation and continuous update of a
Comprehensive Economic Development Strategy (CEDS) through the US
Department of Commerce—Economic Development Administration (EDA). Our
region has maintained this designation since 1984. The Commission
completed a five-year update to its Comprehensive Economic
Development Strategy (CEDS) in October of 2008. The Commission is
required to prepare an annual CEDS performance report in iterim years
between the required 5-year updates. More detailed information on the CEDS and
CEDS process is summarized in this CEDS Summary
Sheet. Preparation of this document ensures that communities
throughout the region are eligible for EDA grant and loan programs.
Regional Economic Development Project Inventory
As part of the annual update to the
Comprehensive Economic Development Strategy (CEDS), ECWRPC is working to
compile a list of economic development projects and activities within the
region. Projects listed in this report satisfy the EDA requirement of
inclusion in an approved CEDS to be eligible for funding consideration.
While inclusion in the report alone does not determine eligibility for
applicants or their projects, it can be the first step towards it. This
project inventory is also used internally within ECWRPC to identify
projects that may be eligible for other funding programs. Local
governments and economic developers are encouraged to submit projects
using the form below.
