Community Facilities
The Community Facilities Program replaces what was
previously known as the Regional Development Program and assumes the
responsibilities of coordinating the various functional area planning
programs and activities. East Central continues its planning and
administrative responsibilities as the designated urban service area
planning agency for the Fox Valley designated water quality planning area
and also for the remaining non-designated portion of the ten county
region.
This program also addresses the new “Smart Growth” public
facilities plan element and incorporates the Sewer Service Area activity
previously under the Regional Development Program. Sewer service areas are
the basis for promoting orderly growth and efficient development patterns
and preparing other functional area plans which further that goal.
