Relocation of US Highways 10 and 45

Highway Name Changes

As part of the Wisconsin State Highway Plan 2020, WisDOT 1999, and prior plans, two major highway relocation projects were recently completed in the region. The relocation of US Highways 10 and 45 will result in an unprecedented number of highway name changes in Outagamie, Waupaca and Winnebago counties. In many cases it will mean address changes for citizens and businesses adjacent to the re-named and re-signed highways.

Relocated US Highway 10 was opened to traffic in December of 2003, from the Fox Cities to Fremont on new alignment.

Old Highway 10 from the Fox Cities, through Medina, Dale and Readfield, to Fremont, is now Wisconsin Highway 96. Highway 96 ends at the new USH 10 interchange on the east side of Fremont.

Old US Highway 10 was concurrent with WIS 110 through the Village of Fremont and it will remain as Wisconsin Highway 110.

Relocated US Highway 45 was completed and re-signed in late 2003, from Murdock Avenue in Oshkosh to the US Highway 45 bypass of New London.

Old Highway 45 (Jackson Street) from Murdock Avenue in the City of Oshkosh to Wisconsin Highway 15 in Greenville is now Wisconsin Highway 76.

Old Highway 45 from Highway 76 in Greenville to New London is now Wisconsin Highway 15.

Old Wisconsin Highway 110 from Murdock Avenue in Oshkosh to County Highway T is now US Highway 45. Old Wisconsin Highway 110 from County Highway T to Wisconsin Highway 116 near Winneconne is now County Highway S.

Old Highway 110 from Highway 116 in Winneconne to old Wisconsin 150 in the Town of Winchester is now US Highway 45. Old Wisconsin Highway 110 from Old Highway 150 in the Town of Winchester to the new US Highway 10 interchange in the Town of Fremont is now County Highway II. Old Highway 150 is also new County Highway II from Winchester to new Highway 76 in the Town of Clayton.

From old Highway 150 (new County Highway II) in Winchester, US Highway 45 was constructed on portions of old County Highway W, and merges with the new US 10, just north of Winchester. US 45 and US 10 run concurrent to old County Highway D near the Waupaca and Outagamie County Line. Old County Highway D is now US Highway 45 north to the US Highway 45 bypass in New London.
